Under the Friday lights, and all the way to the big leagues.
In a town like Reardan, sports start at the high school gym and the football field, where the whole community turns out. From there, fandom radiates east to Spokane, one of the best small sports cities in the country, and clear across the state to Seattle. Here is who to cheer for, near and far, and how to catch every game.
The Reardan Screaming Eagles.
Everything starts here. Reardan competes in the WIAA’s 2B classification in the Northeast 2B League, against nearby small schools such as Davenport, Freeman, Liberty, Northwest Christian, Medical Lake, and Saint George’s. When the Eagles play, the town shows up.
A small school that plays big.
Reardan took the Screaming Eagles name in 2021, and the teams have worn it well. The 2025-26 season was a banner one on the hardwood: both the boys and the girls basketball teams battled through district play and reached the WIAA State 2B tournament at the Spokane Arena, with the girls charging all the way to the state semifinals.
“Reardan is headed back to state.”
Behind the wins is a stated philosophy the program calls its MVP Process and Championship Culture: going beyond the scoreboard to build character, leadership, and lifelong connections. With small rosters, more kids get to play, lead, and letter in several sports, so three-sport athletes are the rule here, not the exception.
Every team, every season.
Reardan fields a remarkable slate for its size, more than a dozen sports across the year. Tap any team for its roster, schedule, and scores on the official athletics site.
